Muse Music
Streaming App
For this project, I was tasked to create a "play screen" and "artist page" for a made-up music streaming up Muse. They wanted a new spin on the classic music app layout that would connect to their Gen-Z audience. I used Figma, Adobe XD, and Adobe Photoshop.
The Concept
The overall theme I wanted to center around for the design of this app was modern vintage. While seemingly technology of the past, record players and cassettes have become one of the most popular trends in the Gen-Z music community. Even outside the hard-core music community, the concept of anything "vintage" has taken over the younger generation.
That being said, I thought this would be the perfect antidote to draw in the younger demographic to this new streaming service while also keeping the classic clean modern layout.
Page Designs
Going with the "vintage" theme, I wanted to make sure there were some key details within the design. One of those details was the dark wood texture background. This inspiration came from the idea of displaying records on a wooden shelf. I wanted to make sure it didn't draw too much attention away from the content but added some vintage character to the app.
Continuing with that idea, I added some "shelve" sections to tie the idea together. Specifically highlighted in the "Your Shelf" section on the artist page, this concept was made to make it feel more personal and embody that vintage homey feel to the user.

Another key feature on both pages is the record images. I felt that this element would be a key aspect to separate Muse's UI from other streaming apps and bring the overall concept to life. It also is the center of the theme and connects with the record icon I designed to be the center button on the navigation bar.

The bottom of the artist page is also worth noting as a key feature as the "tickets option" and "social media connection" really allow the user to be connected with the artist they love. Parasocial relationships have become more prominent than ever with Gen-Z, so having this feature of connection with be a stand-out section for them.
